Is your dog ready for your holiday

At last it’s time for that well deserved holiday everything is ready case is packed, sunglasses  sun cream. But let’s not forget our faithful friend; there are things to consider for our dog’s stay while you are away sunning yourself. For a start we need to choose the best place for them to stay, who will give the same love and attention to our best friend as you do during their stay. Feedback is the first consideration; we don’t want to leave our dogs with Cruella deville. Always make an appointment for a meet and greet, It’s most important to see how the boarding proprietor interacts with your dog, ask loads of questions on walking and exercise regimes, will your dog be kept with other dog’s, will they provide photo reports during the stay. It can be very reassuring to have these sent to your phone. When we are happy we have made a good choice, we need to consider our own preparations. Are the vaccinations all up to date, including kennel cough, canine parvo virus, leptospirosis, canine influenza, hepatitis and the parasite treatments flea and worm up to date.  Do we know the microchip number, these are all considerations that can save last minute panic and make sure everything runs smoothly. Then there are items to take along with your dog, always better to take the dog’s own bedding, feed bowls, toys, lead and food, that way what is there left to go wrong. Food is a very important consideration as we don’t want a dietary issues giving your dog diarrhoea during the stay.
